A Week Helping Grama!

Here is where we have been working. The house on the left was MY Grama's house, the house on the far right just about cut out of the picture is where my mom and dad are currently living. My Grama's house was built in the early 1900's and was a stop on the wagon road for travels to spend the night. The house my parents are living in was the blacksmith shop that has been added onto over the years and is now a rustic little house.

We have been cleaning out the house and working on some of its issues so my parents can move in.

This house was built before electricity and plumbing. Since those things were added later most rooms only have 1 plug in and there are NO light switches everything is on a pull string.

We have been tearing out carpet, linoleum and tile. Plus the WALLPAPER wow! Every room Everywhere. Even the ceilings are wallpapered!

There is no sink in the bathroom and all pipes are on the external.

Yes lets go back outside. That is the wonderful part! The kids LOVE it here! We have so much fun!

Yes we took the Ducks...In the car....Back and forth....I know I am NUTS!

Mom and the guineas.

On nice days mom and I have been working on flower beds and cleaning over the lawn. The view is great. Everything is on the river!

We took some time to go up in the woods.

Caught some salamanders.

They packed them clear up to Pappy to show him.

Hayden discovered mud is not so bad!

Back to work!

Velvet was having a really hard time figuring out this poncho!

Mom and I stacked a wood pile and we found all kind of treasures in it!
4 Snails!
1 Slugs!
lots of Beetles, Bugs!
A Salamander!
And 2 MICE!

Notice Hayden has his boot off....He was filling it with the treasures! We finally talked him into putting them into a cup, but I am glad I didn't have to wear that boot!

I am also glad I was unable to catch the mice, even though I tried REALLY hard! Those suckers are FAST! Because who had to bring all that stuff home??? I talked him into letting the salamander go so we could find him another day, but I had slugs and snails climbing all over! Kids are so FUN!
