January is flying by, and things are going as expected. I am back to work after having the holidays off. That was GREAT. I keep reminding myself it is worth it for a few extra $ so we can have some fun as a family. Being home was really nice. I painted the Dining Room and Kitchen, did some serious cleaning, and had a lot of fun with the kids. Really there is no words that can sum up being a mother!
My friend Lindsey got kicked by a horse....So the kids set to making get well cards.
No matter how many times you tell them: DON'T put stickers over the address! They always do!
A trip to my moms is always fun for all us! You can't see it from the picture, but the cat has left the dead bird that she caught for all to see! Who knew that is the place to stand around and eat your cookies?
My nephew, for lack of a better term is NUTS....He worked really hard on building this "thing" imagine my shock when it actually moved! With a imagination and all the odds and ends laying around the projects are endless.
This is the day I started to get things read for painting the DR and Kitchen. The kids were having a great time with finger paints!
Hayden is so like is Momma!
V is more like Daddy!
Once that fun was over everyone wanted to "Help" me! They are pretty good window washers! Laundry is another one of the specialties! Never again will I start the washer without checking out how helpful they are! All the recycling, and a brand new box of ziploce bags from COSTCO! Some days are better than others!
This is a project I saw at a craft Bazaar this last year. I like the rustic look, but really you can fill it with anything that can withstand the lamp oil. I used a quart jar, but any size would be cute. The glass cylinder that is holding the wick however is impossible to find around here so be prepared to shop online!
The kids obviously like painting! Notice that we are using the posters from work that you were throwing away Kathy! They work GREAT and save the table.
(The Dining Rooms new color. Josh promises me that he will put up the window trim ASAP. Then I can make some Roman Shades out of the material above for curtains! It is a good thing that we like our neighbors!)
I really just love her!
Here is another Cascadia activity! Since the weather has been REALLY cold they have been dumping cinders on the roads. I noticed that really close to moms they had some in the rock turn out, so armed with shovels I took the kids back to investigate.
They thought the ice was pretty cool!
I will spare you the pic, but they were also pretty interested in a dead deer that was there.
After that we went to check out the old house. The kids LOVE going there, Mom and I not so much!
They were so dirty I had to strip them nude to get in the car. V thinks the giant ash piles are slides! Good thing we are up to date on TETNUS shots!
That is it for now. Not sure what we have planned for this week. Nancy is coming to visit tomorrow, and the kids are VERY excited! I think we need to start thinking about what we are doing for Valentine's Day at Hayden and Velvet's Class. I have a idea... But there is a few things to take into consideration when making 40 of something. It has to be simple enough for a 3 and a 4 yr old to do, or help with. It has to be CHEAP, and hopefully the end result is cute! Wish us luck!
